Rolling Hills Retreat provides the perfect space for relaxing, rejuvenating and unwinding. You can get involved with as much or as little of the proposed programs as you like.

Perfect for people who have never been to a retreat before or experienced retreaters. Our guests are usually beautifully diverse - with a range of genders, cultures, sexualities, hidden disabilities and ages ranging from mid 20s to late 60s - ALL ARE WELCOME HERE.

 

We are a home-stay style of retreat - we aim to provide comfort, relaxation and a well-planned itinerary based on psychology, research-based evidence and a dash of spirituality at an affordable price. Chris, the main host & owner, is trained, experienced & accredited in psychology/psychotherapy/mental health/group therapy/yoga/meditation/education and food safety.

Opportunities for self-development, personal growth, gaining insight and letting go can also occur for those who are looking for that. Themed workshops will be offered throughout the retreat as well as free time to relax or explore the area.

 

We are a small boutique retreat - whilst we have the capacity for up to13 guests maximum, we usually have approximately 6 guests as many people opt for sole occupancy of rooms.

Daily yoga (hatha, vinyasa flow, gentle, kundalini and yin/restorative).

Meditations and wellness workshops offered throughout the day as well as walks, creative sessions, fire pit ceremonies, spiritual movies, etc. (schedule varies for each retreat and is tailored to the group via a pre-retreat questionnaire).

Healthy and tasty vegetarian home-cooked food provided for breakfast, lunch and dinner (vegan/gluten-free/dairy-free/allergies catered for).

 

Group fitness classes offered on some retreats to those who wish to participate (or simply relax by the pool instead - the choice is yours - no judgement here at Rolling Hills Retreat).

Pre-booked massages from other trained professionals usually available (not included)

Approximately $40 Uber or $60 taxi from Ballina Airport.

 Sauna is available at various points over the retreat as it is wood-fired.

Typical 4 day/3 night Schedule

Friday

3pm onwards - Arrive anytime and feel free to use the pool, read, relax or use the meditation room in the Wellness Studio.

4:15pm – Welcome meeting in the Wellness Studio.

5pm – 6pm Hatha yoga & meditation in the Yoga Barn – the basics (1hr)

7pm - Dinner available to be served to you (feel free sit wherever you like – by yourself or with other retreaters).

8pm-8:45pm – Retreat Opening Circle in the Wellness Studio - setting intentions & a relaxing yoga nidra meditation.

9:30pm onwards – Whisper time.

Saturday

7:45 am – 8:30am – Hatha yoga session in the Yoga Barn. Feel free to come & meditate from 7:30am.

8:30am – 9am - Breakfast.

10-11am – Wellness Workshop.

Free time – Gym equipment available for use OR self-drive to the beach/hike/explore.

12:15 – 12:45pm - Lunch served between these times or it can be left out for you to have when you choose.

4:30 - Deep breathwork & kundalini yoga arm hold.

**Optional self-drive to Byron Twilight Markets 4-9pm

7:15pm - Dinner available to be served to you.

7:30pm – Movie night or Silent time

Sunday:

7:45 am – 8:30am – Vinyasa flow yoga session in the Yoga Barn. Feel free to come & meditate from 7:30am.

8:30-9am – Breakfast.

**Optional self-drive to Nimbin or Bangalow Markets 9-3pm

9:45am – Waterfall walk excursion and walking meditation.

1:15pm - lunch offsite (this has been very popular - meal not included)

Free time – Gym equipment available OR self-drive to the beach/hike/explore or relax/ continue with your creative activity.

4:30pm Creative activity.

6:30pm – Fire pit ceremony

7:15pm - Dinner served to you

8-8:50pm – Relaxing yin yoga.

9:30pm onwards – Whisper time.

Monday:

7:45am – 8:30am – Hatha Yoga session (on the yoga deck – weather permitting) - Feel free to meditate from 7:30am.

8:30-9am - Breakfast.

9:45-10:30 – Closing circle & meditation.

Departure by 11am – float to your next destination.

Typical 3 day/2 night Schedule:

Friday:

3pm onwards - arrive anytime and feel free to use the pool, relax or use the meditation room.

4:15pm – Welcome meeting in the Wellness Studio (30 mins approx)

5pm – 6pm - Hatha yoga session & meditation in the Yoga Barn (1hr)

Sauna available

7:15pm - Dinner available to be served to you (feel free sit wherever you like – by yourself or with other retreaters).

8:15 – 9pm – Opening circle, setting intentions and a relaxing yoga nidra meditation to prepare us for bedtime.

9:30pm onwards – whisper time.

7:20pm – Fire pit ceremony, movie night or silent time.

9:30pm onwards – Whisper time.

The entire weekend exceeded my expectations. I went into the retreat a damaged soul with little to no positive perspective on life. There was the perfect mix of activities which included, self healing, self care, free time and group activities which allowed me to connect with others.

Rolling Hills Retreat is a slice of heaven, situated in a beautiful location surrounded by mountains and neighbouring farms. It offers spacious and scenic views of mother nature creating a sense of calmness and serenity. The food was incredible and the hosts, Chris and Cam, were unbelievable.

 

The yoga and mediation programs were beyond incredible. The programs have equipped me with the necessary strategies to deal with negative thoughts and bad decision making. I have found myself repeating my own mantra's and affirmations on a daily basis since returning from the retreat. I meditate every night and have recommenced my yoga practices.

 

Sine the retreat, I have implemented more joy and self care routines in my everyday life. I feel refocussed and full of purpose. Chris and Cam, thank you for the opportunity and for allowing me to find myself again. I am eternally grateful.

What can I say except wow! The 2 night yoga and wellness retreat at Rolling Hills Retreat was phenomenal from start to finish. Chris and Cameron were excellent hosts, providing the small comforts that help make you feel like you're at home and in a safe, welcoming space. The food was freshly prepared, vegan and so tasty - for someone who only eats vegetarian perhaps 2-3 times per week, I will now be moving more towards vegan recipes in the future thanks to their amazing and easy to follow examples.

 

The yoga part of this retreat was great for a beginner like myself who has only done a few YouTube videos and a gym class here and there. We were shown different types of yoga and were expertly guided into the correct form by instructor Chris. Going back to the body balance class at the gym the following day, I felt clear and confident in my movements and in the new techniques I had learnt over the weekend.

 

The self care/help workshops were more than I expected but what a great space to let go of some darkness and get help seeing the light, with techniques to take home and continue the good vibrations. The meditation workshops were equally as useful and I felt myself fall into a meditative state for the first time with Chris's soothing voice and expert guidance.

 

With plenty of free time, activities to do as a group and solo, and planned workshops and exercise, I highly recommend this retreat for anyone looking to recharge their batteries, kickstart their mental and physical health journey or just get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life with these beautiful souls and in such beautiful surroundings. I am already counting down the days until I can visit this beautiful place again for another wonderful retreat!

I felt privileged to be able to attend the Rolling Hills Retreat. The retreat was authentic and carefully curated to nourish and nurture your body and soul. As I drove up the driveway I started smiling to myself and there was Chris smiling back at me. He welcomed me to the retreat which immediately made me feel at home. Throughout the whole weekend I felt comfortable as if I was just visiting friends which enabled me to open up completely and honestly to myself and others around me.
